Preparing the Meter:

Insert the Battery: Open the battery compartment on the back of the meter and insert a 3-Volt lithium battery (CR-2032) with the "+" side facing up.

Set Date and Time: Press the 'M' button to enter the setup mode. Use the 'S' button to adjust the year, month, day, hour, and minutes. Confirm each setting by pressing the 'M' button.

Coding the Meter:

Insert the Glucode Chip: Each batch of test strips comes with a Glucode Chip. Insert this chip into the meter's slot to ensure accurate calibration.

Preparing for Testing:

Wash Hands: Use soap and warm water to wash your hands thoroughly. Rinse and dry them completely.

Prepare the Lancing Device: Insert a new sterile lancet into the lancing device. Adjust the depth setting according to your skin sensitivity.

Performing the Test:

Insert Test Strip: Remove a test strip from the vial and immediately close the vial to protect the remaining strips. Insert the test strip into the meter with the contact bars facing up. The meter will turn on automatically.

Obtain a Blood Sample: Use the lancing device to prick the side of your fingertip to obtain a drop of blood.

Apply Blood to Test Strip: Gently touch the blood drop to the edge of the test strip's target area. The strip will draw in the blood through capillary action. Ensure the confirmation window is completely filled.

View Results: The meter will count down from 5 to 1 and then display your blood glucose level.

After Testing:

Remove and Dispose of Test Strip: Eject the used test strip and dispose of it properly.

Record Results: The meter automatically stores up to 300 test results with date and time. For manual tracking, use the provided log book.

Turn Off the Meter: The meter will automatically shut off after 3 minutes of inactivity. You can also press the 'M' button to turn it off manually.

Additional Tips:

Control Solution Test: Periodically, use the control solution to ensure the meter and test strips are functioning correctly. This is especially important when using the system for the first time or when opening a new vial of test strips.

Alternative Site Testing: The TB200 allows testing on the palm and forearm. However, consult your healthcare professional before using alternative sites, as results may vary compared to fingertip testing.
